BECKA

(NEW-YORK, USA)

Meet Becka, Armed with a voracious appetite for collecting records and a groovy, unique and sometimes aggressive style, that has slayed crowds around the world, Becka has become a highly sought after artist and was even ranked among the top 100 female DJs from SheJay.com. With a natural ability to adapt to any crowd Becka has destroyed dance floors at some of the most revered clubs and festivals in the world.

She has a release on Todd Terry's Techno imprint Terminator Records and collab EP project with Tronic/Toolroom artist Agent Orange, adding to her catalog of Techno and House tracks already out on well-respected labels: Terminator Records, Minitech Recordings, Funk’n Deep Records, Different Is Different, Electrik Soul, Gotham Grooves and in true testament to her wide range of style was even asked to do a remix for Paul Van Dyk’s Vandit.

In the mid 90’s as the rave movement was gathering steam Becka played a pivotal role in creating space for the then niche market for house and techno in Philadelphia. Alongside the other architects of the rave movement she helped organize some of the first events in the city of brotherly love, and it sparked something within her that would lead to a lifetime of late nights, heavy bass and dimly lit rooms.

More than 20 years have passed since the she first fell in love with the sounds of Joey Beltram, Little Louis and Inner City, later gravitating to the heavier raw sounds of Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, and Ben Sims. Yet her steadfast dedication to a scene that has now become a global phenomenon has not diminished in the slightest.
