DJ LUCCA

(PRAGUE, CZECH-REPUBLIC)

There ‘s few accolades that DJ Lucca has not picked up since she first started packing clubs across her native Czech lands and Central Europe. Having dropped into the groove promoting with the Boby Centre in her native town Brno: purveyors of the first Czech dance parties with Paul van Dyk and Nick Warren in the mid 1990s; once she got her hands on the decks herself, this avid spinner progressed rapidly through the gears.
Not many females decided to become a professional DJ back in 1999, but Lucca felt, this is her mission and this is something she would like to do in her life.

Her visit to the Red Bull Music Academy in Dublin, 2000, and numerous opportunities to play, boosted her career and she soon became known as one of the Czech Republic’s most successful DJs. In 2002, she was acclaimed „Newcomer of the Year“ by the Czech magazine Bassline and one year later, in 2003, she became for the first time the most popular DJ in the Czech Republic in national voting competition. The same year, German magazine Groove, placed her 9th in the category of „Newcomer of the Year“.

The same year, 2003, she released her debut track called Mirage, lately remixed by her fellow, Slovenian hero DJ Umek and licensed by Carl Cox for his DVD „Carl Cox and Friends. Lucca and Carl became friends in 2003, when she gave him at the hotel reception in her born town a CD with her track Mirage. Carl played that track at the same night. “To hear he is playing my track, it was like a dream” remembers Lucca. After that, Carl invited Lucca to play on his stage at Dance Valley festival in Holland, and she was regular guest each summer at his resident nights called Revolution at the world's most famous club, Space in Ibiza.

Gigs and performances would take some time to name all the artists this tiny and beautiful woman from Czech republic had a chance to work with in all these years and to count down all clubs and venues she performed. Touring with Tiesto in 2005, performing the main stage with Paul Van Dyk at Love Parade, in Berlin, gigs with David Guetta, is something she is really proud of as well as playing the biggest european festivals such as Dance Valley (Holland), Awakenings (Holland), Decibel Outdoor (Holland), Nature One (Germany), Sonne Mond Sterne (Germany), Time Warp (Germany), Strike One, Klubbers Day (Spain), Gasometer (Austria), Mayday (Hungary, Germany, Poland), Global Gathering (Polland), Sunrise Festival Poland, Creamfields (Czech Republic, Poland), Sziget (Hungary), Balaton Sound (Hungary) , Hyperspace (Hungary), and clubs such as legendary U 603 11 in Frankfurt, Privilege Ibiza, Ministry Of Sound in London, Rohstofflager Switzerland, spanish La Real, Fabrik, Florida 135, Octopus, Las Palmas Rotterdam, Parkhouse Kenzingen, Universal Dog, M47 Hungary, Highlander Hungary just to name a few and touring Brazil, Colombia, China or Japan.

She had her own radio show on Paul van Dyk's Vonyc Radio in the past.
Speaking about tracks and remixes,Lucca's discography is quite extensive as well. From releases on her own label Sound Of Acapulco, remixes for important names in the business such as Umek, Chris Liebing, Davide Squillace, Marko Nastic, Pig & Dan, Robert Babicz, Reset Robot or Tommy De Clerque, collaborations with live musicians, MTV appearance with her video "Body Dance" back in 2005 and "Japan Sugar" in 2011 and of course her artist album Reformation from 2009.

Lucca had a break due to her maternal duties, she is mum of two sons. After she returned to djing, she released tracks on respected labels such as Deeperfect, Cristian varela š Pornographic Records or Rhythm Distrikt.
She is extremely motivated and passionate to hit the road again. This summer she returned on the big stage at Balaton Sound Festival in Hungary playing alongside Marco Carola and recently she played two sold out shows at Pure with Carl Cox in Prague.
